SP - My 5 Fave Films


(Peter Jackson19 December 2001, Budget:$93,000,000) 
US Box Office: $314.8 million 
UK Box Office: £65.3 million 

Why I like it: I like this film because the effects used are amazing and I really enjoyed the storyline throught the trilogy. I still think this is the best film out of the three.








(Edgar Wright, 9 April 2004, Budget:$4,000,000) 
US Box Office: $13.5 million
UK Box Office: £6.5 million 

Why I like it: I like this film because it is funny whilst having action scenes in it. I also think Simon Pegg is a great actor.






(Zack Snyder, 23 March 2007, Budget:$65,000,000) 
US Box Office: $210.5 million
UK Box Office: £14 million 

Why I like it: I like this film because again it is action packed  but it is aslo about a historic event.

US Box Office: $277.3 million
UK Box Office: £21.6 million 

Why I like it: I like this film because it is exremely funny. I could watch it over and over again.

UK Box Office: £25.3 million 

Why I like it: I like this film because it has a really good storyline. I also think Will Smith is a good actor and the special effects make the film intriguing to watch.

SP - My Coursework Task

THE BRIEF 
Your mission is to carry out the following brief: 
Preliminary exercise: Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule. 
Main task: the titles and opening of a new fiction film, to last a maximum of two minutes.
All video and audio material must be original, produced by the candidate(s), with the exception of music or audio effects from a copyright-free source.

The coursework is worth 50% of the AS (same at A2) and the marking (detailed later) is divided into 3 sections:
  1. RESEARCH AND PLANNING: 20%
  2. PRODUCTION: 60%
  3. EVALUATION: 20%

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?  
How does your media product represent particular social groups? 
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?  
Who would be the audience for your media product?  
How did you attract/address your audience?  
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?  
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
